Town Hall suspends contract with Torremolinos animal refuge: "confirmed that Torremolinos Town Hall has temporarily suspended its contract with Parque Animal, the local refuge allegedly linked to abuse of the animals in their care, and has opened sanctioning proceedings against the shelter.

The two people in charge of Parque Animal, the owner and manager, were both arrested earlier this month, charged with abusing the animals in their care by using a lower dosage of euthanasia medicine in order to save costs. The Civil Guard say the pets who were sacrificed in this way suffered a slow and agonising death. The pair also faces charges of fraud."
