The judge says the Junta should send him some technicians to help the investigation.
The Junta de Andalucía cannot continue to refuse to supply technicians to speed up the ‘Astapa’ case investigating corruption in Estepona Town Hall.
Anti Corruption Prosecutor, Valentín Bueno, has said in a letter that to refuse to help is ‘unaffordable’ because the legislation obliges the public entities to collaborate with the judges and the courts during the processes.
Judge Jesús Torres asked for the help from the Junta hacienda technicians back in August, asking that they investigate eight developments which are under suspicion. The Junta refused, and referred to article 95 of the Ley General Tributaria, which narrows the collaboration with judges and courts. Anticorruption did not accept that have underlined their request.
Meanwhile Judge Torres has managed to get an inspector from Agencia Tributaria who will revise the contracts for works and services awarded by Estepona Town Hall between 2003 and 2008. Police have sent all the documentation to the court so the work can start.
