19-year-old British teenager has been knifed to death by a taxi driver following a violent scuffle on the Greek island of Zakynthos

19-year-old British teenager has been knifed to death by a taxi driver following a violent scuffle on the Greek island of Zakynthos, police have said.
Authorities in Athens said four other British nationals, all in their twenties, were being treated at a local state hospital for injuries, including stomach stab wounds, sustained during a heated brawl with two Greek taxi drivers, aged 21 and 23.
It was not immediately clear what sparked the scuffle in Lagana.
But local witnesses suggested the two taxi drivers were angered when the young British holidaymakers refused to heed their warnings to stop flashing laser torches at them.
Both taxi drivers were on a break, parked at a fast food restaurant when the violent attack took place at 3am.
"One of them, the 21-year-old, took out a jack knife and started stabbing them," a senior police official in Athens told Sky News.
"They both fled the scene but were later pursued and arrested by local police."
The knife, tossed into the sea by the assailant, was found by state divers.
Lagana resort has long been a favourite tourist destination among young British travellers.
